Looking at a USB stick within disk management there is “unallocated space” on the drive. To fix:

Open Command prompt and type DISKPART > A new prompted will open.

Run the following commands (Windows :() to reclaim the unallocated space:
list disk
Disk ### Status Size Free Dyn Gpt
——– ————- ——- ——- — —
Disk 0 Online 298 GB 0 B
Disk 1 Online 7509 MB 6619 MB
select disk 1

clean
You should see the drive as not formatted within Disk Management at this stage.
create partition primary

exit
