Sar is a useful tool to monitor load, io, memory etc.

To install:

apt-get install sysstat
[/html]

Now we need to enable the cron job to begin collecting the data:

[html]
dpkg-reconfigure sysstat
[/html]

Select Yes on the above step.

You are now collecting system data.

Some useful commands:

Check historical load averages:
[html]
sar -q
[/html]
Check historical memory utilization:
[html]
sar -r
[/html]
Check historical disk utilization:
[html]
sar -u
[/html]
